Evocation in Red II

The woman represented as a princess or a fragile being in need of rescue is a recurring concept in traditional stories and children's tales. Evocations in Red II is a collection that challenges this notion by deconstructing the essence of purity and innocence of the female characters in these stories, instead establishing versions of them that are closer to reality. In these drawings, the girls appear unhappy, less self-sacrificing and more rebellious, willing to face a world that is far from perfect and rarely has a happy ending.
